COACH PITCH RULES

  1. Eight coach pitch pitches and then use the tee. (Once playoffs start it will be eight coach pitch pitches and then an out)

  2. Five players in the infield only. The goal is to show them how the infield should truly be set up and played. All others should be in the outfield because everyone plays each inning. Ideally you should be alternating the kids between the infield and outfield each inning so everyone gets a chance to play in both. The idea of this division is to begin teaching them the game and building upon skills and all positions.

  3. If someone hits a hard hit and the batter wants to take 2nd base it’s the first base coach’s discretion to send him however the out can be made by the opposing team. There are no automatic doubles. If runner is on 2nd base when double is hit they can run home if they want but it is not automatic and opposing team could try to get them out.

  4. Every kid will bat in the line up. If the third out happens before the last kid hits, the bases need to be cleared and you stop keeping score for that inning since the third out was reached. (This gives each kid a guaranteed 3 bats in the game but also teaches them 3 outs and the scoring is over for the inning like real baseball.)

  5. Each dug out will keep score and verify the score with each other at the end of each inning. At the end of the game each coach posts the final score on the website. Score books will be provided before the season.

  6. If one team has less players than the opposing team they may allow hitters to hit for a second time until the same amount of batters has been reached as the opposing team. (The players that are hitting for a second time MUST change each inning. You cannot just have your best hitter hit twice each inning.)
